A heartfelt Thank You to all our paramedic services

This week is Paramedic Appreciation week and we’d like to take the time to thank all our BC Paramedics and first responders that work tirelessly every hour of every day to provide emergency services when we need them the most.

Did you know that the BC Ambulance Service:

• Was the first provincially operated ambulance service
• Serves an area of 1 million square kilometers
• Employs 3,600+ emergency services personnel
• Is the largest provider of emergency health care in Canada!

Besides providing emergency ambulance services, they also serve remote and difficult to reach areas with Helicopter ambulances, an important resource for BC with our varied and difficult terrains across the province, and our network of many islands. And when the 2010 Olympics were coming up they add two Utility Terrain Vehicles (UTV) ambulances to be able to deal with crowded streets and getting patients in and out efficiently and safely.

Take some time to show your appreciation this week to our paramedics whenever you see them!
