Caring for loved ones with Heart Failure

February is National Heart Month, and with heart disease playing the second leading cause of death in Canada, and affecting approximately 2.4 million Canadian adults. Things are getting better as more people are educated on making healthy food choices, being more active, and the effects of smoking and other negative behaviours.

Carers Canada recently took part in an International study coordinated by the International Alliance of Carer Organizations (IACO) and supported by Novartis, between Canada, Australia, UK and USA. The study spoke with 519 carers and how caring affects them and the factors impacting their health and well-being. Below are the findings:
